Curious about what Duck Head has to offer but not willing to make the hike to find out? Duck Head is one of Nova Scotia's most picturesque bouldering destinations, and while it may be only a shadow of it's former glory, but still has plenty to offer the adventurous climber. The hike alone is worth the trip, and there are still several classic boulder problems, including Blakney's magnificent Hydropower V10.

After photographing 1000+ problems for mobeta; in the opinion of this author, Hydropower is the most aesthetic boulder problem in Nova Scotia. The ambiance around the problem is arguably even more serene than Dover Island. Formed from splitting a giant boulder in half, it created holds of fresh untouched granite with a beautiful patterns. The climb requires compressing your way out a powerful over-haning roof on crisp holds. Inspiring. But, don't take my word for it...
