Projects Galore

Conventional wisdom says that a day as soaking wet as today is best spent climbing in the comfort of the gym. After a week of terrible wet weather, the desire to touch real rock trumped common sense, and Quinn and Smizz headed out to West Pennant in search of dry rock. Anything in the woods was soaking wet, so we headed to the coast hoping the sun and high winds dried out the rock.

We headed the unlikely beginner destination Crystal Crescent Beach in search of lines overlooked by the previous generation of climbers. We were pleasantly surprised! We scoped at least 5 or 6 nice looking projects in the V10+ range sitting wide out in the open!

We put in a sesh on a nice line with good holds and technical moves on a bold overhanging wall. Smizz did all the moves and was very close to linking it, but we ran out of daylight before he could put it down. Will be at least V9. Looking good for summer projects. Check out the projects database for beta.

Ben Smith sticking the crux on a new project at Crystal Crescent Beach. It's good.
